The job at NBC's iVillage.com provided me with an incredible amount of responsibility as well as the opportunity to learn and work with every team: edit, design, tech, sales and marketing. The position's variety also helped me expand my many skill sets: I edited and managed a series of freelance experts and writers, produced and built tools, slideshows, editorial packages, quizzes and community features, blogged about the news, and programmed the daily channel homepage. For tools and packages that involved the design and tech teams, I was the liaison between the two teams and managed all project deliverables.
I also aided in the integration effort between iVillage, TODAY, Universal Picture, Bravo and Oxygen by coordinating coverage with TODAY show producers, outlining a TODAY show segment on shapewear and building co-promotional opportunities like Baby Mama and Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
I enjoy learning about the other departments and positions around mine. Not only does it help expand my skill set personally, I also believe it aids in better communication, greater efficiency, and allows for more successful results.
