I worked at the Daily Collegian, a 20,000-circulation daily newspaper, for the four years I was at
I edited and designed weekly 16-to-24-page entertainment magazines, started a new dating section, and wrote a column or two when there was an extra 15 inches to fill. However, in my senior year, I took on the challenge of leading the redesign and relaunch of the Daily Collegian Online. Under my lead it changed from a site that updated once-a-day to a constantly updating newsource. We established breaking news updates, blogs, photo galleries, podcasts and changed the Collegian's culture to that of a 24-hour newsroom. And personally, I fell in love with the web as a journalistic medium. With a background in edit and design, a proficient knowledge of HTML, and a desire to be in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, online journalism is a perfect fit for me.
